Or new old music in some case. I had gone to Urban Outfitters in a quest for some jewelry related things and other stuff, and had gotten 50 Free Music Downloads for trying out emusic. So I figured I would use them tonight and get rid of them. It's rainy out, so it seemed like a good day for it. I downloaded:
-Treasure by Cocteau Twins
--some Johnny Cash, "Ring of Fire" and "Walk the Line."
--Mass Romantic by the New pornographers
--The Shins Bluegrass Tribute album
--an Ozomatli song
--Meet the Beatles by the Smithereens and
--the music from the Charlie Brown Christmas by Vince Guaraldi.
The Cocteau Twins is a classic from high school and early college. We used to listen to it, Led Zep and Jane's Addiction in the lit. mag office. My taped copy is off of a lp that a friend had. For reason I don't know, I never got any of their other cds. If any of you have an inkling which are the next ones to pursue, let me know. But, not a big deal.
Am a bit scared about the Shins Bluegrass album, but we'll see. Could be good, could be majorly crap.
Hmm, where did the weekend go and why haven't I gone to the grocery store? Well, was dreary and rainy when I got in so I wanted to stay in. I even made a list. Excuses, excuses. I got two calendars at least, which I know sad as it's almost February, but if I'm going to put them up, they'd better be pretty. I got the latest Maxfield Parrish one and Magic in the City, which is a black and white one which goes with my black and white bathroom.
Okay, I'm going to take Run DMC's "Walk this way" as a sign. A sign that I should be in my pjs, or a sign that I have an odd mix of music on my computer. Or possibly both.

We did very little actually. And it's possible that the crowd I was with would've been fine with the smoking weed nature of CT. As for making out with anyone, I don't remember there being a lot of men there, but one of the ones was a kid I'd known forever and whose father was my eye doctor. So, desires for making out with people is slim. Pretty much what we did is listen to music, talk about movies, and people and occasionally put out a high school lit. magazine.
I totally lost this blog link until today! I have a lot of catching up to do...
