-And that's literally true. No, you haven't stumbled onto a mourning post regarding the godfather of soul, though I did like him. I was driving around with my father and I said those words out loud and realized that the club song that I had in a mix from 1993 entitled "James Brown is Dead" is now actually true, which is a bit sad and weird. It would be better if I could remember the name of the group who sang it, but naw, my memory's never that good.
--Happy Holidays all. May you have good ones and good memories and things that fill you with joy and sunshine and rain. Oh, and that's another song whose title and group I have forgotten. I could sing it for you.
--One of the weirder things is being at home where you were a teenager and hearing songs that you remember hearing twenty years ago and that noone else plays. I heard "Cult of Personality" by Living Color and "Don't Forget me When I'm Gone" by Glass Tiger, a group that I really haven't heard in ages. I had the tape too.
--I've been watching videos that I taped from the 80s off of MTV and lo, are they trippy. Traveling Wilburys, Robert Plant, Heart, Cinderella, REM, and other things from MTV and Vh-1. And I've seen Adam Curry and Kevin Seals, the way they used to look and more ads for L.A. Gear with Kathy Ireland than I care to remember. It ends with the line, "You are such a brat." after Kathy has pretty much flirted and pouted with this guy. In the words of the Delta, Delta, Deltas, "Oh my God."
--Well, am tired and want to drink tea and read the paper in my pajamas. Much traveling, much early rising, and much walking. So I've probably counteracted some of the food I've eaten lately. Maybe.
