--I've been cooking/baking, which isn't interchangeable, I know. I made Lamingtons monday and I think the best way to describe it is yellow cake with chocolate frosting and coconut. I think it's Australian in origin; I think I found the recipe in an old issue of Cricket magazine, and it was in my old notebook which I had in college. I know it's college because it has the old mix. tape listings in it as well as what books I needed to get. I don't think it's a recipe I will do again as it's messy as hell. Messy and the chocolate hardens quite seriously. I also made sourdough biscuits so now I have sourdough in my fridge which still weirds me out. Am hoping to make sourdough pancakes soon, since I've a recipe and I just bought a griddle at Tar-shay. I did just made the sourdough pancakes and they turned out fairly well. They taste a bit like buckwheat pancakes, sort of, though not quite. It's a lighter and tangier taste.
--I found a lot of cool stuff there; I bought magnets, a pot, the soundtrack for the Last Kiss, and cool notebook stuff. Among my many, many weaknesses (purchase-wise), some of the worst are cool notebooks, pens, folders, cards and cute kitchen stuff. Admittedly, I usually use them eventually. Or they become random gifts for people. Though I hate the trend of journals without lines for the reason that my scrawl is barely reined in with lines, much less without them. I wish I was one of those people that had immaculate handwriting that's straight as a line, but that so isn't true. Mine's distinctive is all we can say. --
--My little Schadenfreude moment here. Kidnapped, the crappy drama with Timothy Hutton and Dana Delany got cancelled, probably. Huzzah. I hate him and I'm starting to hate her. I liked her in China Beach, but her recent stuff is pretty bad. Plus, she did Exit to Eden, which I have to say was a crappy BDSM film. And it wasn't bad enough to be campy; it was just bad, like Staying Alive, Slackers and all the other movies I've seen that I want my two hours back from.
--Well, as Duran Duran's "New Moon on Monday" is playing and because the coffee shop is closing imminently, I will end for now.
