Art Alexakis, No....

Am so depressed by the use of Everclear's "AM Radio" to sell GM cars including a hummer. I know, selling cars by using songs is nothing new like using the Clash to sell a cadillac. Okay, the Clash is more upsetting than Everclear as the Clash is more political. I am most distressed by the fact that this means I must be close to the demographic they're targetting. Not unlike the moment when Saturn used "Forever Young" for their ads which I mind less because well, I have one and it was clever. Another blogger talks about it far more than I am. Click on the link above to check it out and you can watch the ad. I kinda vaguely respected him low-levelly. Okay, I thought he was cute. I'm that shallow.

Am amused though, that they did some fancy editing to take the drug references out of the song for the ad. At least I think they did. The lyric goes, "getting high in my sister's van."

I still haven't seen them in concert as they always come during times when I'm not here or other issues. I don't know if their selling out cancels out my desire to see them sort of. Sniff.

Oh no, my i-tunes has called up SNL's commercial of Maya Angelou for Fruit Loops which is so wrong.
